Your privacy

Privacy policy.

How we collect, use and look after your personal and health information, and the rights you have over it.

Last updated: 12 October 2026

This privacy statement explains how West End Home Physio uses any personal information we collect about you when you use this website, contact us or receive physiotherapy from us. Any changes to this policy will be posted on this page.

Who we are

West End Home Physio (West End Home Physio Glasgow) is a home-visit physiotherapy service run by Nasir Shaikh, an HCPC-registered Chartered Physiotherapist (HCPC registration PH79584). Nasir Shaikh is responsible for the personal information described here (the “data controller”). You can contact us by email at naz@specialisthomephysiotherapy.com or by phone on 07393 312 774.

What information we collect

When you contact us

If you use our enquiry form, phone, WhatsApp or email, we receive the details you give us. This is usually your name, phone number, email address, area, the service you are interested in and anything you tell us about your condition (for example a surgery date).

When you become a patient

To treat you safely, we keep clinical records. These can include your contact details, date of birth, medical history, medication, assessment findings, treatment notes, your GP's details and an emergency contact. Information about your health is “special category” data under UK data protection law, and we treat it with extra care.

When you use this website

This website has no user accounts, no online shop and no analytics or advertising tracking. We only store your cookie choice in your browser, and the Google Map loads only if you accept cookies. Our cookie policy has the details.

How we use your information

  • to reply to your enquiry and arrange appointments
  • to assess and treat you, and to keep the clinical records our profession requires
  • to issue receipts, for example for a private medical insurance claim
  • to contact your GP or another health professional about your care, with your agreement
  • to meet our legal and professional obligations

We use the information collected through this website to give you a better, more helpful service.

Our legal basis

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) we rely on:

  • taking steps at your request before an agreement, and providing the care you have asked for: replying to enquiries and treating you
  • legal obligation: keeping records we are required to keep
  • health care: for health information, the provision of health care by a registered health professional who owes you a duty of confidentiality
  • your consent: when you tick the consent box on our enquiry form, and for anything else we ask your permission for. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information, and we do not give anyone access to it for their own marketing. We only share it where it is needed to run the service:

  • FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) delivers messages sent through our enquiry form to our email inbox.
  • Our email and phone providers, and WhatsApp if you choose to message us there.
  • Google, only if you accept cookies and the Google Map loads on this website.
  • Other health professionals, such as your GP or consultant, or your insurer, when you have agreed or asked us to.
  • Anyone we are required to share it with by law.

Some of these services may store information outside the UK. Each has its own privacy policy that explains how it protects your data.

Marketing

We only send you information about our services if you have asked to receive it. You can stop at any time by emailing naz@specialisthomephysiotherapy.com.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't lead to an appointment are deleted once they are no longer needed. Clinical records are kept for the period set out in professional and NHS records-management guidance for health records, then securely destroyed.

Keeping it secure

We take appropriate steps to keep your information confidential and secure, and only use it for the purposes described above.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • get a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date
  • ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
  • ask us to restrict or stop using your information, or object to how we use it
  • ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
  • withdraw your consent at any time

To use any of these rights, email naz@specialisthomephysiotherapy.com. We will reply within one month.
